Was it always like this for me? Absolutely not. Actually, the first teleseminar I did was a complete flop. That’s right. I put a lot of time and energy into developing the call, but had no idea how to write a sales letter, develop a compelling offer, sell during the call and optimize the time after the call to make sales. 

Honestly, I sucked at this.

That was one of the most important experiences I ever had. I needed to get humble enough to become teachable. And teachable I became.

I studied the masters on how to put on money-making teleseminars. I figured if they were making the kind of money they were, they must know something I didn't. 

For months on end I studied people who were succeeding at the level I wanted to. I bought their products, listened to their teleseminars, got their programs, applied the information and learned how to crack the code.

The first money-making teleseminar I did was a few months after the flop. You might think I'm going to tell you everything ran like clockwork. I'm almost embarrassed to say what happened on my second teleseminar. 

The second call was a near disaster too. Because I learned how to write a compelling message about my free call and I utilized very effective marketing strategies, I had over 300 people registered for the call. For some unknown reason no one could get on the bridge line to listen in. 

Fortunately, I had learned one of the most important things you HAVE to do to be successful and was able to salvage the situation. With a very proactive post marketing process, the big flop generated over $7,000 in revenue with over a 95% profit margin.

I was hooked. Having my first success under my belt was a huge turning point for me and my business.

I love the Internet and I love teleseminars! Why? Because I make a great multiple six figure income from both.

Okay, I might be making hundreds of thousands of dollars from teleseminars, but as you can tell from what you just read it wasn’t always that way. There was a time when I needed to get on a plane and do live presentations in front of an audience to make a good living. Frankly, I was getting really tired, really fast from the travel. I focused a lot of my attention on hosting live events in my local Salt Lake City market. Things were really great.

I was making a nice living, lived in a beautiful 3,900 square foot home, had great clients who hired me for my consulting services, and couldn’t imagine not doing what I was doing….that is until we moved from Draper, Utah to Pleasant Hill, Oregon.

By that point in my career I had written 4 paperback books, I was an Amazon.com bestselling author, an award winning speaker and entrepreneur (my business was recognized by the governor of Utah in 2004 as the #1 homebased business of the year for the entire state) developed several information products (most of which I was selling on the Internet) and consulting with some smaller companies. Business was great. 

When I moved to Oregon I assumed it wouldn’t take long for me to launch my business in the Eugene market by using the model for success I had developed in Utah. Was I ever wrong. The market in Eugenevery different from Utah. I couldn't get business in this market to save my live. After a period of panic and going through the "Great, now what am I going to do?" period, I decided to focus on what had made me money before. Teleseminars!

Although I had dabbled into teleseminars and made a few thousand dollars, I had no idea how profitable they would become and continue to be to this day.
