Robert Bridges, MD
Contributing author – Align, Expand and
Succeed
1.
This book is about conscious business and being
a conscious entrepreneur. What does being a
conscious entrepreneur mean to you?
The conscious
entrepreneur is attuned to the needs of the
customer. In this often hectic world,
“follow through” is so important. From
first contact on to the completion of the
services the client has purchased, every
step should be in concert with the clients
needs. The conscious entrepreneur instills
value for their services and engenders
confidence such that when the next time the
product is needed the conscious entrepreneur
is the one first thought of.
2.
What inspired you to be a contributing author in
Align, Expand and Succeed?
It is important to share
valuable experiences, both good and bad, to
empower others to reach their full
potential. This is the tradition of handing
down knowledge to better others. We all
have had teachers or instructors whose
insight shortened the road to success or
made the learning curve a little less steep.
3.
Why is the topic of Align, Expand and Succeed
important to you?
There is always more to
learn, greater insight to gain and a better
approach to make in improving ones
business.
4.
Why are you specially qualified to write about
this topic?
I have had to deal with
transitions in business. I have been given
the opportunity to take on demanding roles
in at least two different professions.
While different businesses, basic tenants
for success apply. Adaptability to the
market challenges, leads to the ability to
align with these forces , in turn opens up
the freedom to expand beyond constraints and
limitations and, succeed.
5.
Do you write to make money, for the love of
writing or both?
There is value beyond
money. Successful writing not only elevates
ones status, but reconfirms ones abilities.
However, there is only true value if what
one writes has a positive impact on the
reader.
6.
What makes you proud about your involvement with
Align, Expand and Succeed?
Participating in this
endeavor has permitted me to learn from the
other authors. The groundwork that has made
this book a reality and a success by Lynn
and Kathleen is beyond what would be hoped
for as a single author. This same team of
extremely talented professionals has given
me an amazing opportunity to share and to
learn.
7.
What does the future hold for you and your
books?
In holding true to the
guideposts of this book, a bright future.
8.
What makes this a book that other people MUST
read and WHY?
I see this as a unique
approach to business, placing renewed
emphasis on the importance of the
entrepreneur's relationship with the
client. How and why we undertake our
business model is as important , if not more
so, than just the sales numbers and the
bottom line.
9.
What people NEED to read this book and WHY?
People facing
transition. Anyone starting a business,
anyone wishing to improve their business,
and anyone wanting to save their business
always need fresh insight. This book is
value-added to their businesses.
10.
What sparks your creativity? Any tips to help
others spark their own creativity?
The challenge of
something new, the challenge of combining
the old with the new, the challenge to
better myself and maybe, finding out that a
better mousetrap can be invented. “Luck” is
opportunity meeting preparation. Conformity
can be ones worst enemy.
11.
What do you think motivates people to become
authors? What motivated you to get into
this unusual industry?
Writing is a form of
art. Story telling goes back beyond the
written word and is a wonderful tradition.
I wish to think of books as indelible
milestones on the highway of human
experience.
12.
If a potential reader thinks that your book
wouldn't interest them, what would you say to
convince them to buy?
The unknown is often uninteresting.
Judgment of value comes after the last
chapter. There are pearls of wisdom (we
hope), but pearls only come from finding the
oyster and prying open the shell. Often
there may be no pearl, but many times there
is and sometimes a pearl (of knowledge) of
great value.
13.
What is your final message to our readers?
Success often requires
stepping out of ones comfort zone. Never
give up on improving oneself. Sweat equity
is a life long investment in your success.
