1.  This book is about conscious business and being a conscious entrepreneur. What does being a conscious entrepreneur mean to you?

Conscious entrepreneurs are focused on offering real value and a greater vision, for the client or customer as well as for themselves. It means doing what you love, sharing your unique gifts, and living with joy and passion. It is also experiencing personal and spiritual growth, fulfilling your purpose and doing what you can to contribute more positive energy, more love, to the world.

 

2.    What inspired you to be a contributing author in Align, Expand and Succeed?

I feel it is vital for people to become more conscious in thought and action, and that certainly applies to the work we do in the world. Align, Expand and Succeed is a fabulous resource for those who want to increase their level of consciousness, and I felt a strong inner urge to be involved in this important piece of the conscious business revolution.

 

I was also familiar with Lynne Klippel and Christine Kloser, our publishers and the visionary women who brought all of the authors together, and really resonated with their earlier books and programs. I am excited to be involved in such an important project, as well as the whole conscious business movement that is gaining momentum!

 

3.    Why is the topic of Align, Expand and Succeed important to you?

The essence of being a conscious entrepreneur is to do the work that is your passion; that brings you and others joy, comfort and support; and that allows you to share your unique brilliance while making a positive difference in the world. This is alignment, within you and with the outer world. You expand through the personal and spiritual growth necessary to build a conscious business, and sharing your message in a bigger way in order to touch and help more people. In aligning with your true purpose, and expanding yourself and your reach to those who can benefit from your message, success naturally follows.

 

For me personally, it is a beautiful reminder to consistently check in with myself to determine if I am in integrity with my values and vision for myself and my businesses, and to continue to reach out to others with my message, creative projects and services.

 

4.    Why are you specially qualified to write about this topic?

After years of working for others in a variety of positions, many of which were nothing close to my passion or what I felt to be my purpose, I knew it was time to break the mold and go out on my own. I have started a number of what I consider to be conscious businesses over the past eighteen years, the focus of all of them being helping others, providing inspiration and support, and contributing a portion of my proceeds to various charities. I continue to focus on following my intuition and vision, while I challenge myself to learn and grow in my personal life and my businesses.

 

5.    Do you write to make money, for the love of writing or both?

From the time I can remember being able to write, I have always written for the love of it. As I always encourage others to look to their natural gifts and joys to create their ideal business, I have recently followed that advice myself in the area of writing. An important aspect of aligning yourself as a conscious entrepreneur is to support yourself financially doing something you love!

 

6.    What makes you proud about your involvement with Align, Expand and Succeed?

There is so much that makes me proud to be included in this project and a co-author of this book. As I mentioned, I deeply respect and admire Lynne and Christine, as well as the rest of our wonderful team including Kathleen Gage and Marlene Oulton. The other contributing authors are also amazing people, truly conscious entrepreneurs who walk their talk and are of high integrity and wisdom. It is such an honor and pleasure to join with them in creating something that I believe will make a powerful difference in the lives of so many.

 

7.    What does the future hold for you and your books?

In addition to Align, Expand and Succeed, I am writing a book titled, Touching the Sacred through Sound: Exploring Music as a Path for Spiritual Transformation. I also continue to create products and offer coaching and consulting to assist people in accessing their inner power by connecting with Spirit, improving their health through holistic nutrition and natural healing methods, and finding the perfect channel for their creativity.

 

8.    What makes this a book that other people MUST read and WHY?

As an entrepreneur, especially one who is committed to the new path of conscious business, it can sometimes feel like you are all alone. Align, Expand and Succeed is written by a community of like-minded people who are on a similar path, whose experience and wisdom will provide a lot of comfort, inspiration and support to those who read it.

 

9.    What people NEED to read this book and WHY?

Anyone who owns their own business, or is considering starting their own business, who wants to be a positive force in their industry as well as the world at large – you need to read this book! Align, Expand and Succeed will inspire you, give you practical tools and techniques to use in your business, and be a powerful resource for you as you grow personally and professionally.

 

10. What sparks your creativity? Any tips to help others spark their own creativity?

My creativity is inspired by a variety of things, most often having to do with nature and spiritual connection, art and music, and my love of beauty and the creative process itself. I have an abundance of tips to help you spark your own creativity, many of which can be found on my website. Here are three that work really well for me:

 

Give yourself time to daydream frequently, to free your mind of the busy-ness of your
business and other details of daily life.

 

Go on “play dates,” either by yourself or with a friend, to an art or book store, an antique sale or museum, a botanical garden or park, or anywhere else that you feel joy and expansion and an inflow of new ideas.

 

Get together regularly with a group of kindred spirits for a brainstorming session, or an art and craft day to work on your individual projects within the group energy. Kindred spirits are those who are also open to creative inspiration and are supportive of your growth as a person, an artist, a conscious entrepreneur. 

 

11. What do you think motivates people to become authors? What motivated you to get into
      this unusual industry?

I believe many people become authors because they have an inner urge – whether it is a gentle nudge or a burning desire – to share their experiences in order to heal themselves and others through the process of writing and connecting, or to offer the world a possible path for growth by revealing their own journey through a particular challenge. These are definitely part of the motivation for me, though I feel my strongest motivation is that I just have to write. If I don’t write for any length of time I feel restless, uneasy, and as if I’m missing something.

 

12. If a potential reader thinks that your book wouldn't interest them, what would you say to
      convince them to buy? I'm thinking something better than "It’s the greatest book ever."

 

       Give me something more specific :)
