Recently I made a commitment to do something I have talked about for a long time. Run a marathon. Well, actually I am speed/power walking.

On the eve of my 55th birthday back in May, I decided to quit talking about what I would do and do it!

I have committed to the Portland Marathon taking place in October of this year. The beauty of this 26.2 mile marathon is it is also a fundraiser for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. What this means is I promised to raise money for the society in order to be in the race.

I am asking for your support in helping me to achieve my fundraising goal.

I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Here’s how it works…you make a donation of at least $10 to support my participation in Team In Training, help advance LLS's mission and get the MP3 and transcripts. I can assure you, the information is well worth it.
